My Gentle Daily Routine for Low Energy Days
Therese (Mom)
Life after cancer can feel unfamiliar. Your body moves differently. Your energy comes and goes without warning. Some days, just existing feels like effort.
That’s why routines matter—not as rules, but as anchors. Small, meaningful ways to take your power back.
Let every task you complete—no matter how simple—be a victory.
Start your day by making your bed. It may seem insignificant, but there’s something quietly comforting about seeing one thing clean, organized, and cared for. It reminds you that you’re capable. That you showed up.
Next, drink a full glass of water to gently wake your body. Hydration supports digestion, focus, and healing—and it’s one of the simplest ways to care for yourself. Water nourishes the body, clears the mind, and restores balance. It’s essential. Just like you.
If you can, step outside and take a short walk. Breathe deeply.
Notice what’s around you—the shapes of the trees, the color of the sky, the way the air feels on your skin. If walking doesn’t feel safe or doable, put on some music and dance instead. Move your body in whatever way feels possible.
You don’t need to go to the gym. You don’t need to push. Movement counts when it’s kind.
And on the days when it hurts—emotionally or physically—that you can’t move the way you used to, take a shower. Let the water run over you. Imagine it washing away the heaviness, the frustration, the grief.
Water has a way of cleansing more than just the body. It soothes the mind and steadies the soul.
To deepen that sense of calm, consider using a diffuser with essential oils. Scent is powerful—it can ground you, lift you, and help your nervous system settle.
I personally love the Lagunamoon Essential Oils Set and the ASAKUKI Essential Oil Diffuser because they’re simple, affordable, and easy to use for everyday routines.
